Asian Bodywork

18 Dec Asian Bodywork

Asian bodywork is a broad categorization for the philosophy and wisdom that comes from Asian countries to reduce stress and promote health and healing in the body. At Denver Integrative Massage School, we fuse the traditions of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and of Indian origin in order to add another dimension to a Western-style massage.

Modern stresses that seems to dominate most people’s lifestyle, lead to imbalance in the body. The human body is designed to do everything that it can to restore balance. If the body can’t naturally restore balance then that stress manifests itself in physical symptoms, such as muscles tension, fatigue, headaches, and digestive problems.

Asian bodywork uses gentle hand and finger pressure along the body’s energy channels to increase the energy flow. In Thai massage these energy channels are called sen lines, in Ayurveda they are called nadis and in Chinese medicine they are known as meridians.

Regular Asian bodywork sessions can produce dramatic change because the person is treated holistically, meaning that the mind, body and spirit are all taken into consideration. Asian bodywork has been shown to heal a multitude of conditions and increases one’s feeling of overall well-being.
