Our Thai Yoga Massage program is included in the 600-Hour Massage Program, and it can also be taken as CE hours for currently licensed massage therapists.  We also have a Thai Massage for the Table class, where we adapt the traditional style (given on the floor) to a massage table.

Thai Yoga Massage (also called, ‘Nuad Phaen Boran’) is a compassionate healing approach to wellness that amazingly fuses different techniques and modalities into its own interactive and highly unique style.  Such techniques include: reflexology, acupressure, passive stretching, energy work, meditation, and aromatherapy.  This “Lazy Man’s Yoga’” is very therapeutic for opening and transforming the body, mind, and spirit into a place of relaxation and peace.

Prerequisites: This class is part of our full 600-Hr CMT Program. To take this class ala carte, you must be a currently licensed massage therapist.

Level 1 – Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, 50 Hours

Prerequisites:  This class is part of our full 600-Hr CMT Program. To take this class ala carte, you must be a currently licensed massage therapist.  In addition, Level 1 can only be taken on its own during the weekday options.  If you’d prefer to take the weekend option, you need to enroll in all 3 Levels of Thai massage at one consecutive time.

Weekday Option:  4 days: Thu, Sept 28th; Fri, Sept 29th; Mon, Oct 2nd, & Tue, Oct 3rd, 2017.

Fall weekend option begins Oct 7th, 2017 & goes until Dec 2017.

This course delves into the Asian Energy Bodywork modality of Thai Yoga Massage, which is a combination of acupressure techniques along the meridian lines (Sen Sib), reflexology of the hands and feet, along with progressive, assisted, passive stretching techniques. This course includes 32 In-Class hours that will enable each person to give a 120-150 minute Thai Massage in the Supine and Prone positions. The student will learn the history and roots of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, ergonomics for the therapist, and also focus on grounding, centering, and breathing techniques. The student will also learn the oceanic rhythm and dance-like flow that is synonymous with this healing art. Level 1 would be a perfect addition and a new layer of awareness to bring to a current massage, yoga, acupuncture, or energy work practice. The student will also have 18 hours of practicum hours that can be completed in our Student Clinic, or if already licensed, can be completed outside of the school clinic.  The feedback forms from each session must be submitted to the Director for a certificate to be awarded.

Tuition: $875. $50 deposit required. Price includes manual & DVD.

Level 2 – Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, 50 Hours

This course includes 32 In-Class hours that will introduce the Side-Lying and Seated positions, along with an in-depth study of the Sen Sib lines (the Thai energy lines) and connections with the Chinese Meridian Lines. Along with learning an organized and detailed sequence, the student will learn about the connections between the Chinese meridian lines and acupressure points and the Thai Sen Sib lines and points. The student will have enough knowledge to offer therapeutic Thai Yoga Massage sessions, honing in on clients’ specific needs. The student will also have 18 hours of practicum hours that can be completed in our Student Clinic, or if already licensed, can be completed outside of the school clinic. The student will learn how to give 60, 90, and 120-minute sessions in a therapeutic fashion. For example, when a client comes to a session with lumbar pain and only has 60 minutes for a session, the student will learn and practice the quintessential techniques for treating this condition in this time frame.

Level 3 – Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, 50 Hours

This course is the most advanced level because it includes techniques that must be taught after learning the fundamentals. Along with learning more advanced therapies and techniques, the student will learn how to take information from Level 1 and Level 2 and break it down into practical, organized pieces. These are the courses that comprise the Level 3 course: Prenatal Thai Massage, Thai Herbal Compresses, Plant Brushings & Prayers, Therapeutic Neck Therapy, an In-Class, Case Study Project, Sound Medicine (Tibetan Singing Bowl therapy), & Cupping.  After this advanced study the student will feel confident to work with many different conditions within various time frames. The student will also work with a variety of case studies, learning how to treat conditions such as: Sciatica, Low Back Pain, Upper Back Pain, Frozen Shoulder, Knee Pain, and Headaches all within the Thai Yoga Massage framework. In addition, the student will work with rubrics and learn the differences between Excellent, Good, and Needs Improvement work.
