Career as a massage therapist can be very rewarding. Helping others and making them feel good about themselves are qualities possessed by great massage therapists around the world.
According to American Massage Therapy Association: “Massage is a healing art as well as a science. It requires a balance of academic and technical knowledge, clinical skills, manual dexterity, sensitivity, and awareness. Nearly everyone has the innate resources to touch another with care and confidence. However, it takes a sincere desire to help others, along with a commitment to the time, energy, and focus necessary for the training process in order to become a solid practitioner.”
Once you have decided to become a massage therapist you will need to get training which upon completion allows you to become licensed to practice as a massage therapist in your state.
If you live in Colorado, Denver Integrative Massage School offers a 600-hr program to become a certified massage therapist.
You can choose one of two options depending on your needs and wants. Both options utilize online training for anatomy and physiology allowing your greater flexibility and convenience. Depending on which option you choose, you can become a message therapist within 4 to 6 months.
