Join us at Denver Integrative Massage School on Friday, October 26 as we explore another part of Thai Yoga Massage. This month’s focus will be on the back and how to use Thai massage to relieve pain and tension in one of the most common parts of the body to hold stress. Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek the attention of a healthcare provider.
In this two hour workshop, participants will learn how to massage back muscles all along the spine, from the lower back to the upper back. Learn stretches that not only mobilize the spine, but also open it up. In addition, you will learn how to safely warm up the back muscles to be able to receive deep pressure and release. The giver of the massage will also experience deep connection to the breath in order to make the bodywork to feel more at ease and allow it to become a meditation. Finally, learn how to use fists, forearms, elbows and feet to provide accurate pressure and to avoid tension in hands and wrists.
Registration is required to guarantee a spot in this workshop. Please bring a blanket and a pillow. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing. This event takes place 6:30 – 8:30pm.
