Translating to “Hermit’s Self-Stretching Exercise”, Ruesri Dat Ton is a a traditional Thai practice. This type of focused breathing and stretching was practiced by ancient Thai ascetics hundreds of years ago. Suitable for everyone due to it’s gentle nature, Ruesri Dat Ton is a great self- healing practice that restores balance and well being.
Throughout our Level 2, Thai Yoga Massage training this past weekend we used Ruesri Dat Ton alongside Qi Gong. With a series of 10 gestures we used Qi Gong, the ancient physical activity that aligns breath and movement, to bring focus and awareness to our bodies.
Both practices are wonderful things to incorporate into a self-care routine in between massage sessions or into any daily routine!
