Video Series: Heating Thai Herbal Compresses

At Denver Integrative Massage School, we heat our herbal compresses the same way that it’s done in Thailand – with an electric rice cooker.  The rice cooker uses steam heat to warm the Thai herbal compresses.  Just fill the rice cooker with water, put the tray on top and place compresses on the tray.  Place two towels over the compresses and they will be ready to use during a Thai Yoga Massage session.

Students who take our 600 hour massage therapy training learn how to use Thai herbal compresses to add depth to their massage sessions.  We also offering continuing education classes in Thai Yoga techniques for those already licensed as massage therapists.
